In a cricket player draft, base prices and bid increments keep bidding competitive and structured. Without set increment rules, bids rise slowly (for example, by ₹100), dragging out the auction for hours. Let's look at how to set standard slabs for your league.
Step 1: Determine Player Base Prices
Base price represents the starting bid value of a player. Categorize your players into sets (e.g., Marquee, All-Rounders, Bowlers, Batsmen). Set higher base prices (such as ₹50,000) for marquee stars, and lower starting values (such as ₹10,000) for local reserves. Step 2: Configure Bid Increment Slabs
As player valuations increase, the bid increments should scale accordingly. A standard bidding slab template for local club tournaments looks like this:
- For bids up to ₹20,000: Increase bid value by ₹1,000
- For bids from ₹20,000 to ₹100,000: Increase bid value by ₹5,000
- For bids above ₹100,000: Increase bid value by ₹10,000
Step 3: Test and Automate Rules
You can configure these starting settings easily. Our Free Cricket Auction Tool lets you define your bid increments during setup. If you are operating offline, download our Free Cricket Auction Excel Template which enforces bid price limits automatically.
